About Fleet and Family Readiness
Fleet and Family Support Center.
Single or married military and their family members arriving on board N.A.S. Fallon can benefit from an early visit to the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC), located in Building 309 or the Transition and Relocation Assistance Center (TRAC), in the same building.
TRAC Relocation:
The relocation services specialist can provide travel maps, brochures, and reservation assistance for a variety of bases. The relocation specialist can print you a Standard Installation Topic Exchange Service (SITES) booklet on any base in just a matter of minutes. This booklet will tell you all about your next duty station, a duty station you may be considering for orders, or an area you are planning to visit.
Transition/Employment:
The career employment resources office provides assistance to individuals looking for employment, presents workshops on how to prepare for a job search and helps develop job leads in the local community. The office operates a Nevada State Job Service job bank computer. This office also provides assistance with resume writing, cover letters, networking skills, dress and interviewing techniques, and specialized support for veterans seeking employment. Active duty and retired personnel, their spouses and family members, relocating civilian Department of Defense personnel and spouses are eligible for employment resources services.
FFSC Information and Referral:
An information and referral specialist, with expertise in blending family needs with local, state and worldwide services, is available with up-to-date files about the base and civilian communities.
Counseling:
Professional counselors provide short-term counseling in basic human needs (personal, marriage, and family) guidance. If long-term counseling is required, staff members are well equipped to refer clients to the appropriate local agencies.
Family Advocacy:
The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is designed to prevent child and spouse abuse and to provide treatment and assistance to victims of abuse. If you, or someone you know, need assistance, contact the FFSC for a confidential interview.
Sexual Assault Victim Intervention (SAVI):
The FFSC provides a broad range of other services, including sexual assault victim's assistance, volunteer advocacy for victims of sexual assault, and counseling for victims.
Workshops:
The FFSC also offers classes on family growth and development, workshops in marriage and family assistance, and personal resource management. The center sponsors programs on financial management, stress management, and marriage and family enrichment on a regular basis. The FFSC is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The phone number is 775-426-3333. The TRAC office phone number is 775-426-3332.
