NORFOLK, Va.- The Navy soon will begin giving Breathalyzer tests to many of its Sailors before they report to work aboard a ship under a new program that will spread to the Marine Corps later this year. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus announced the plan Monday during a rare "all hands" call from aboard the USS Bataan at Naval Station Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Naval Safety Center (NAVSAFECEN) offers resources to help manage driving risks. Fiscal year 2011 was the safest on record in terms of four-wheel motor vehicle fatalities. Car and truck operators did a great job of managing the risks of driving. However, mid-way through the second quarter of FY2012, fatalities are in danger of creeping back up.

Norfolk, VA – To commemorate Women’s History Month, Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads will host a ceremony featuring guest speaker, Ms. Carol Pugh, on March 29 at 11 a.m. at the POW/MIA Chapel. Pugh is the first female Group Superintendent in Norfolk Naval Shipyard's 243-year history.
