Academic Advisors

We have academic advisors to assist with your educational planning. Appointments are recommended to save you wait time, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Credit Evaluations

Navy training and experience can earn you college credit. We’ll show you how military credits fit into your degree plans. We can provide your Sailor and Marine American Council on Education Registered Transcript (SMART) and have your evaluation in just minutes.

SAT/ACT/GED

Seating is usually limited to 20. Active duty military personnel have priority. Call us to schedule an appointment. Please allow seven weeks for delivery of specialty exams before scheduling.

Language Testing

Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT) and OPI are available. Contact us to order the test as well as to schedule the taking of the test. See NCO annual testing schedule at testing link for most recent information. CAC card is required.

National Testing Center

The National Testing Center, operated by UMUC is located in room 332. CLEP/DSST/EXCELSIOR Exams are offered. Testing is free for active duty personnel (CAC card required); DoD civilians and other US civilians can buy a voucher from the web site and then can “walk in” like military members. The voucher takes 24 to 48 hours to go through the system so you need buy the voucher at least a week before taking the test. CLEP/DSST Exam testing is conducted Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 12 noon - 4 p.m. EXCELSIOR and Pearson VUE Exams are conducted Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Call 241-4216 or National Testing Center.

Navy College Learning Center

Academic Skills Improvement – Brush up on your Math, English, and Reading abilities through a computer-based program. Prepare for college, increase ASVAB, SAT/ACT scores, or earn your GED. Visit the Navy College Learning Center (NCLC) on the third deck, Room # 363 of the Fleet Recreation Center (Building 3008) or call 241-4600. The hours are; Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
