NAS Jacksonville received the Commander in Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence during a ceremony at the Pentagon May 2.
Fallen Seabees honored
NAS Jacksonville //
They come together every year to remember fallen shipmates. In 2004, seven Seabees of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 14 were killed in two attacks in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, while in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The battalion honored all Seabees killed in action at its annual memorial service held May 5 at the unit’s NAS Jacksonville headquarters.
New rooftop solar system up and sunning

A modest gathering of engineers and technicians gathered at NAS Jacksonville Hangar 1122 on May 1 to celebrate completion of the station’s largest rooftop solar power generating system.
NAS Jax has record turnout for shoreline cleanup

More than 250 volunteers from NAS Jax and tenant commands came out to participate in the 2012 NAS Jax Shoreline Cleanup at Mulberry Cove Marina May 3. The event filled a large 20-yard dumpster with a wide range of trash and debris.

Pinecastle Range Complex Training Schedule
Navy training schedules indicate that live bombing will take place for intermittent periods of time at the Pinecastle Range Complex in the Ocala National Forest within the following days and times:
May 15 - 2-8:15 p.m.
May 16 - 2-8:15 p.m.

USS Eisenhower Composite Training Unit Exercise
Carrier wing training operations are being conducted in the Jacksonville op area until May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

Pass & ID new hours
The Pass & ID office at the main gate now has new hours. Decals and badges will be issued the following days and times:
Monday through Thursday – 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fridays – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday/Sunday – 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
One-day passes will be issued when the Pass & ID office is not open. Renewal of decals can be done 30 days in advance online at https://www.pid.cnic.navy.mil.

Military personnel and government employees are reminded that there is a $20 rule on accepting gifts from any organization, agency or person. You may accept gifts given because of your military status only if they are $20 or less per source, per occasion and a maximum of $50 per source, per year. Accepting widely available discounts available to the general public or to all government and military personnel is permitted. For example, you are authorized to accept a "military discount for 20% off."
