Escondido Ranch is a hunting ranch located 90 miles from Kingsville, Texas and is managed by the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department of Naval Air Station Kingsville. The ranch lodge has accommodations for over 50 guests, a cookhouse, and nearly 6,800 acres of prime Texas hunting land. Our year round wildlife management program is designed to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Directions: Located approx. 2 hours west of Corpus Christi.

Lodge Accommodations: Escondido Ranch boasts a 17 room lodge with an adjacent cookhouse that contains 4 large barbecue pits, 2 electric stove and a electric grill. There are rooms that have bunk beds that sleep 4, family rooms that sleep 4 , or a separate cottage that sleeps 8 with a kitchen, bathroom and porch.
The lodge has a large lounge with electronic darts, a 55” TV, DVD, pool table, and microwave. The lodge also features newly renovated restrooms, shower facilities and flooring throughout the public areas. Each room is furnished with beds, a refrigerator, and an air conditioner/heater.
Limited availability of water prevents the Ranch from providing linen service.

The lodge may be reserved for special functions such as squadrons, divisional, departmental parties, or group getaways.
Camping: 12 RV sites with electric, water, and sewage hook-ups. Bring your RV or tent and enjoy the outdoors.
Road Conditions: The last 13 miles to the ranch is caliche road. In inclement weather please call the ranch before leaving home so that the staff can advise you of road conditions.
ATV and Horse Owners: Please call the Ranch Staff in advance for restrictions and fees.
The Ranch offers year round hunting. To find out what game is in season call the Texas Parks and Wildlife Office regarding hunting in McMullen County at 1-800-792-1112. Aggressive conservation programs have increased the abundance of wildlife on the Ranch. Over 75 different types of birds can be seen.
Hog, javelina, bird and deer hunting are very popular. Deer hunting is conducted on a drawing basis. Call the Ranch for more information on the drawing process.
Hog Hunts are conducted monthly, February through August, around the full moon and are very successful. These hunts are overnight events.
Fish the Nueces River! All Anglers are required to comply with Texas State Fishing Regulations.
You don't have to be a hunter or fisherman to enjoy the ranch. There many other opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including camping, archery, hiking, fishing, relaxing, wildlife photography, bird watching, or watching a sunset without obstruction or interference.
